2 Chronicles 25 Summary
Amaziah begins well, defeating Edom and obeying a prophet's command to dismiss hired Israelite mercenaries. However, he then brings back Edomite idols and worships them. When confronted by a prophet, he dismisses the warning.
His pride leads him to challenge King Joash of Israel to battle, resulting in humiliating defeat, the breach of Jerusalem's walls, and plundering of the Temple. Amaziah eventually dies by conspiracy, a king who served God halfheartedly.
