John's Vision on Patmos (Revelation 1)
Exiled on Patmos, John saw the risen Christ walking among the seven candlesticks — the vision that opens the book of Revelation.
Revelation 1 finds John 'in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ' (1:9).
