Acts 4:12 – Meaning & Devotional
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
What This Verse Means
Peter boldly declares the exclusivity of salvation through Jesus Christ. There is no alternative path, no other name, no backup plan — Jesus alone is the way to God.
This statement is both narrow and generous: narrow in that it identifies only one Savior, yet generous in that salvation is offered to all people through that one name.
Historical Context
Peter and John had been arrested for healing a lame man and preaching the resurrection. Standing before the Sanhedrin, Peter used the occasion to proclaim Christ's exclusive role in salvation — a bold declaration before the very authorities who crucified Jesus.
How to Apply This Today
Place your full confidence in Christ alone for salvation. Don't dilute the gospel by adding human requirements or alternative paths. Share this exclusive hope with others.
