What does the Bible say about god's compassion?

God's compassion is not distant sympathy — it is a deep, visceral response that moves Him to act. The Hebrew word for compassion shares a root with the word for womb, suggesting the tender, nurturing love a mother has for her child. Key King James Version passages include Lamentations 3:22-23, Psalm 103:13, Matthew 9:36. This page collects 10 KJV verses about god's compassion, each quoted in full.

How is God's compassion different from human compassion?

Human compassion is limited and often conditional. God's compassion is infinite, unconditional, and never fails. Lamentations 3:22-23 declares that His compassions are new every morning.

Does God's compassion mean He overlooks sin?

No. God's compassion moves Him to provide a remedy for sin through Christ's sacrifice, not to ignore it. His compassion and His justice work together perfectly.
