The Bible presents a balanced view of human government. Romans 13:1 states, 'The powers that be are ordained of God,' and calls government 'the minister of God' for maintaining order and justice. Jesus taught, 'Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's' (Matthew 22:21).
