What "What Does the Bible Say About Rest?" Actually Means
Rest is woven throughout Scripture as both a physical necessity and a spiritual reality. God rested on the seventh day, not from exhaustion but to establish a pattern for His creatures. Jesus invited the weary: 'Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest' (Matthew 11:28). Psalm 23 pictures God making us lie down in green pastures.
