What "What Does the Bible Say About Laziness?" Actually Means
Proverbs is particularly pointed about laziness, using the figure of the 'sluggard' repeatedly. The sluggard won't plow in season (Proverbs 20:4), makes excuses (Proverbs 22:13), is told to learn from the ant's industriousness (Proverbs 6:6-8), and his laziness leads to poverty (Proverbs 24:33-34). Paul addressed laziness in the Thessalonian church, commanding busybodies to work quietly and earn their own bread (2 Thessalonians 3:11-12).
