What "What Does Alpha and Omega Mean?" Actually Means
In the book of Revelation, the risen Christ identifies Himself as 'Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending.' Because Alpha (Α) is the first letter and Omega (Ω) the last letter of the Greek alphabet, the title declares that Jesus encompasses everything — every word, every age, every story. The same title is also applied to God the Father, which means the New Testament treats Jesus' deity as fully equal with the Father's. Christ is before all things, He sustains all things, and He brings all things to their appointed end.
