Christian grief is not stoic. Jesus wept at Lazarus's tomb (John 11:35) though He knew the resurrection was minutes away. Tears are not unbelief. Paul does not forbid sorrow — he forbids hopeless sorrow (1 Thessalonians 4:13). The believer grieves and hopes at the same time.\n\nBring the grief to God. The psalmists model raw, honest lament — questioning, weeping, even arguing — yet returning to trust. 2 Corinthians 1 promises a Father of comfort who comforts the grieving so they can in turn comfort others. Let the church surround you (Galatians 6:2); resist the urge to isolate.\n\nHealing is not linear. There will be waves long after the loss. Tell the story, look at the photos, mark the anniversaries. Cling to the resurrection: for the believer, death is sleep from which Christ will awaken every saint (1 Thessalonians 4:14). The reunion is real. Grieve well; the Comforter is with you.
