I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees.

Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but… Abraham.

As for Sarai thy wife… Sarah shall her name be.

And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine.

Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac… and offer him… for a burnt offering.

And behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns.

In thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son.

And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.

And he was called the Friend of God.

Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations.

Make thee an ark of gopher wood.

Shem, and Ham, and Japheth.

And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

And lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off.

The ark rested… upon the mountains of Ararat.

I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant.

Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens.

And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

And saved Noah… a preacher of righteousness.

Moses' minister, Joshua the son of Nun.

Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid.

Caleb… and Joshua the son of Nun… rent their clothes.

And came into an harlot's house, named Rahab.

And the waters which came down from above stood.

On the seventh day… they compassed the city seven times.

Achan… took of the accursed thing.

Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

These are the inheritances which… distributed for inheritance by lot.

As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Thy name shall not be called any more Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.

Abram's wife was Sarai.

Therefore Sarah laughed within herself.

Sarah was ninety years old, and bare a son.

Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh.

Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian.

Cast out this bondwoman and her son.

Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old.

Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah.

Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed… because she judged him faithful who had promised.

The book begins by identifying Joel as the son of Pethuel.

Joel describes a series of locusts that have devoured the land.

The LORD calls them to 'rend your heart, and not your garments.'

The prophecy states, 'And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit.'

The scripture says 'The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood.'

The LORD says He will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat.

In a reversal of other prophecies, Joel says to beat 'your pruninghooks into spears.'

The text commands, 'let the weak say, I am strong.'

Joel 3:14 speaks of 'Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision.'

The text says 'a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD.'

Micah 1:4 states the mountains shall be molten under him.

The text says they practice it because it is in the power of their hand.

Micah 4:1 declares it shall be established in the top of the mountains.

The prophecy says they shall beat their swords into plowshares.

The verse promises every man shall sit under his vine and fig tree.

Micah 5:2 famously predicts the Ruler's origin in Bethlehem Ephratah.

Micah 6:8 lists walking humbly with God as a core requirement.

The scripture says a man's enemies are the men of his own house.

Micah 7:8 states, 'when I fall, I shall arise'.

Micah 7:19 says thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Peter writes to those who have obtained 'like precious faith' through righteousness.

His divine power hath given us all things pertaining to life and godliness.

The sequence is temperance, then patience, then godliness.

Prophecy was delivered as holy men were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Noah is described as a preacher of righteousness and the eighth person saved.

God delivered just Lot, who was vexed by the behavior of the wicked in Sodom.

The proverb describes a dog turning to his own vomit again.

One day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night.

Peter refers to the writings of 'our beloved brother Paul.'

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field.

Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins.

There cometh one mightier than I… the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

He shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias.

Nathan said unto David… There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor… Thou art the man.

David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped.

His head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth… and David… said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom!

O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son!

David's heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have sinned greatly in that I have done.

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Now the son of Saul was Jonathan.

And Jonathan climbed up upon his hands and upon his feet, and his armourbearer after him: and they fell before Jonathan; and his armourbearer slew after him.

And Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said unto him, Wherefore shall he be slain? what hath he done?… for he did put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel.

But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.

So Saul died, and his three sons, and his armourbearer, and all his men, that same day together.

I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.

Jonathan knew David was God's chosen king, yet he loved him, protected him, and laid aside his own claim to the throne.

For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.

And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.

And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together… And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order.

And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son… Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her.

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him. For all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.

And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.

And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son… My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I. And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death.

And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

As I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

And, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.

And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink. And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.

And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold.

And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.

And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel. For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us?… and Rebekah took a vail, and covered herself.

And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD.

And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

And Rebekah spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying… Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee.

And Rebekah took goodly raiment of her eldest son Esau, which were with her in the house, and put them upon Jacob her younger son… And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the smooth of his neck.

And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee. Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; and arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran.

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife. (Genesis 12:17)

Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves. (Luke 11:5)

For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? (Luke 11:6)

The earth was filled with violence, so God sent the flood.
