    Exodus 24 Summary

    Exodus 24 describes the ratification of the Mosaic covenant. Moses reads the Book of the Covenant to the people, who agree to obey. He sprinkles sacrificial blood on the altar and the people, sealing the covenant. Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy elders ascend the mountain where they see God and eat and drink in His presence.

    Moses then goes further up the mountain alone, entering the cloud of God's glory for forty days and forty nights. This extraordinary chapter bridges the giving of the law and the instructions for the tabernacle.
