Memorize the first three (Saul, David, Solomon) before the divided kingdom. Separate kings of Israel (north) from kings of Judah (south). Note which prophets ministered under which king. End with the exile — why did Jerusalem fall? From Saul, Israel's first anointed king, to Zedekiah, the last king of Judah before the Babylonian exile, the kings of Israel and Judah shaped the entire Old Testament story.
