About this deck
In John's Gospel, Jesus uses the divine name — I AM — to reveal who He is to us. He is the bread of life, the light of the world, the door, the good shepherd, the resurrection and the life, the way, the truth, and the life, and the true vine. Each statement echoes Exodus 3:14 and answers a deep human need. These flashcards collect the seven classical 'I am' sayings of Jesus together with His most explicit claim of all — 'Before Abraham was, I AM' (John 8:58). Short, memorable, and theologically rich, this is one of the most rewarding short decks in our library.
How to study these flashcards
- Read each saying in its full surrounding chapter — context unlocks meaning.
- Pair each 'I am' with the human need it answers (hunger, darkness, death...).
- Pray each statement back to Jesus by name.
- Note the link between Exodus 3:14 and John 8:58.
