About this deck
The Beatitudes open the Sermon on the Mount and describe the surprising shape of life in Christ's kingdom. Each one names a blessing — but the blessings belong to the poor in spirit, the mourners, the meek, and the persecuted. These flashcards present all eight Beatitudes in their KJV wording from Matthew 5:3-10, so you can memorize the verses exactly as they read in your Bible. The Beatitudes are foundational reading for any disciple — and short enough that a child can master them in a week of patient practice.
How to study these flashcards
- Memorize as 'Blessed are... for they shall...' — front and back together.
- Pray each Beatitude as a confession of dependence on God.
- Compare with Luke 6:20-22 for the parallel account.
- Try the deck in 'reverse' mode to recall the blessing from the promise.
