Who Was Daniel the Prophet — Meaning Explained

Daniel was taken captive to Babylon as a young man around 605 BC (Daniel 1:1-6). Despite immense pressure to conform, he 'purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself' with the king's food (Daniel 1:8). God gave him wisdom and ability to interpret dreams, which elevated him to prominence under both Babylonian and Persian rulers.
