What "What Is the Mosaic Covenant?" Actually Means
At Mount Sinai, God entered into a covenant with the nation of Israel through Moses (Exodus 19-24). This covenant was conditional—blessings depended on Israel's obedience to God's commandments. It included the moral law (Ten Commandments), ceremonial law (sacrificial system, feasts), and civil law (governing Israel as a nation). The purpose of the Law was to reveal God's holiness, expose human sinfulness, and point people to their need for a Savior (Galatians 3:24). While Christians are no longer under the Mosaic Law, its moral principles reflect God's unchanging character.
