What "What Is the Covenant of Grace?" Actually Means
The covenant of grace is the overarching framework through which God promises salvation to fallen humanity. After Adam's sin broke the covenant of works, God immediately initiated a plan of redemption — the 'seed of the woman' who would crush the serpent's head. This promise unfolded through successive covenants: with Abraham (blessing all nations), with Moses (revealing God's standards), with David (an eternal kingdom), and ultimately in the New Covenant through Christ's blood. Each covenant reveals more about how God would accomplish salvation by grace through faith. The covenant of grace means that salvation has always been God's initiative, accomplished by His power, and received by faith — never by human merit.
