What "What Will Christ's Return Look Like?" Actually Means
Christ's return will be unmistakable. 'The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God' (1 Thessalonians 4:16). 'Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him' (Revelation 1:7). Jesus described it: 'Then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory' (Matthew 24:30). Revelation 19:11-16 pictures Him on a white horse, His eyes 'as a flame of fire,' wearing 'many crowns,' with a name: 'KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.' He comes with His saints and angels (Jude 1:14, Matthew 25:31). His feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14:4). Unlike the humility of His first coming as a baby in Bethlehem, His second coming is in overwhelming glory, power, and judgment. Angels told the disciples, 'This same Jesus... shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go' (Acts 1:11).
