Psalm 24:1 establishes the foundation: 'The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.' The parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30) teaches that God entrusts different amounts to different people and expects faithful management. The faithful servants were rewarded; the one who buried his talent was condemned. 1 Corinthians 4:2 says, 'It is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.' Luke 16:10 teaches, 'He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.'
