Justice is foundational to God's character — 'Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne' (Psalm 89:14). The Hebrew word 'mishpat' appears over 200 times and encompasses both legal justice and social righteousness. God's justice means He always does what is right and holds all people accountable. He commands His people to reflect this: 'He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?'
