What "Will There Be Marriage in Heaven?" Actually Means
When the Sadducees posed a trick question about a woman married to seven brothers, Jesus answered clearly: 'In the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven' (Matthew 22:30). This doesn't diminish the beauty of earthly marriage but points to something greater. Marriage in Scripture is a picture of Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:31-32). In heaven, the reality that marriage foreshadows — perfect union with Christ — will be fully realized. Revelation 19:7-9 describes the 'marriage supper of the Lamb,' where the Church as the bride is united with Christ the bridegroom forever. Believers will know and love their earthly spouses in heaven, but the relationship will be transformed into something even more glorious than the best earthly marriage.
