What "Does the Bible Contradict Evolution?" Actually Means
Genesis 1 repeatedly states that God created living things 'after his kind' (Genesis 1:21,24,25) — plants, sea creatures, land animals, birds, and finally man. Humans were created uniquely in God's image (Genesis 1:27), formed from the dust of the ground with the breath of life (Genesis 2:7). This contrasts with evolutionary theory, which proposes that all life descended from common ancestors through random mutation and natural selection over billions of years. The Bible presents creation as purposeful, designed, and recent in comparison. Psalm 33:6,9 declares, 'By the word of the LORD were the heavens made... He spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.' Romans 1:20 says God's 'invisible things... are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made.' Hebrews 11:3 states, 'Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God.' Christians hold varying views on the age of the earth and the interpretation of Genesis days, but the Bible is clear that God is the Creator.
