Scripture views children as gifts from God: 'Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward' (Psalm 127:3). Parents are commanded to teach their children diligently (Deuteronomy 6:6-7) and bring them up 'in the nurture and admonition of the Lord' (Ephesians 6:4).
