How to Disciple Someone — Meaning Explained

The Great Commission is to make disciples, not merely converts (Matthew 28:19–20). Discipleship is intentional, relational, multigenerational. 2 Timothy 2:2 names four spiritual generations in a single verse: Paul taught Timothy, who teaches faithful men, who will teach others.\n\nThe pattern is simple. Meet weekly. Read Scripture together — a Gospel is a great starting point. Pray together. Talk honestly about life, struggles, and growth. Model what you teach — Paul shared his own soul, not only his sermon notes (1 Thessalonians 2:8). Be patient; spiritual growth is slow and uneven.\n\nEquip them to do for others what you are doing for them. Discipleship that ends with you is incomplete.
